Louisiana LEAP 2025 Test Schedule 2026–2027: Complete LDOE Calendar for Algebra I, Geometry, Grades 3–8 LEAP, ACT, and All State Assessments

Texas CBE Team · May 12, 2026 · 13 min read · 4 views

If your child takes any Louisiana state assessment in the 2026–2027 school year — whether the K–3 Literacy or Numeracy Screener, a Grade 3–8 LEAP 2025 exam, a High School LEAP 2025 EOC (Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, English I & II, US History, Civics), the state-funded ACT for Grade 11, or one of the small-population assessments — this is the calendar to bookmark.

We've compiled the full schedule directly from the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics published 2026–2027 Assessment Calendar. Every grade band, every test window, every accommodations-finalization deadline.

Quick reference — the math & high-stakes windows

If you only want the windows that matter for math acceleration or graduation, these are the key ones:

ACT for Grade 11 (state-funded)Window 1: Feb 23–26 & Mar 1–5, 2027 · Window 2: Mar 9–12 & Mar 15–19, 2027

The Spring 2027 window (April 1 – May 12) is the high-volume one — the majority of Louisiana students sit for their LEAP 2025 in that period.

Quick reference — what each acronym means

  • LEAP 2025 — Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (the modern computer-based form). At Grades 3–8 it covers ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies. At High School it covers English I, English II, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, US History, and Civics.
  • EOC — End-of-Course. LEAP 2025 High School subjects are EOCs students take after completing the course.
  • CBT / PBT — Computer-Based Test / Paper-Based Test. Most LEAP testing is CBT; Grade 3 has a PBT option.
  • BOY / MOY / EOY — Beginning / Middle / End of Year. Refers to the K–3 Literacy and Numeracy Screener administration cycle.
  • LEAP Connect — The alternate assessment for students with significant cognitive disabilities, grades 3 through high school.
  • ELPS / ELPT / ELPT Connect — English Language Proficiency Screener / Test / Alternate Test for English Learners.
  • ACT WorkKeys — Optional assessment measuring essential workplace skills.
  • Window — A range of days from which school systems or schools choose the dates and times for assessment administration.

Important notes

  • Statewide window vs. local window. Within each LDOE statewide window, every Louisiana school system (or individual school) chooses the specific dates and times for administration. Ask your school for the exact local dates — your test day may fall anywhere inside the statewide window.
  • Accommodations Final dates are firm. If your child needs a testing accommodation, the eligibility and accommodations decisions must be entered into the state system by the listed final date for that window. Missing it means the standard administration.
  • LEAP 2025 High School is the EOC system. Students take each LEAP 2025 HS subject after they complete the course — this means a typical 9th grader might take English I and Algebra I LEAP 2025 in the Spring 2027 window after completing those courses.
  • The state-funded ACT for Grade 11. Louisiana funds the ACT for every Grade 11 student during the two windows. This is the same ACT used for college admissions; the score reports to colleges.
  • "Window" definition (per LDOE): a range of days from which school systems or schools choose the dates and times for assessment administration.

If your child is preparing for Louisiana LEAP 2025 HS Algebra I or Geometry

For Louisiana students testing in any of the LEAP 2025 HS Algebra I or Geometry windows, our Texas CBE practice exams cover the same core concepts. The Louisiana Student Standards for Mathematics share substantial overlap with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and with the broader Common Core–derived skill base: linear functions, systems, quadratics, polynomial and factoring work, congruence and similarity, transformations, proofs (in Geometry), exponential and logarithmic functions.

How Louisiana LEAP 2025 relates to other state high-school math exams

Louisiana, Virginia, New York, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, and Texas all run subject-specific end-of-course (EOC) math exams at the high school level. The legal stakes differ — Louisiana ties LEAP 2025 HS to graduation requirements, Virginia ties the SOL EOCs to diploma type, New York is phasing out Regents as a strict graduation requirement, Texas uses STAAR EOCs for accountability and offers a parallel Credit by Exam (CBE) acceleration route through UT High School. The exams differ in legal weight but the underlying Algebra I and Geometry math content is largely the same. A student strong on one will, in our experience, generally be strong on the others.
