If your child is enrolled in a Tennessee public school for 2025–2026 — whether they sit for a Fall TCAP End-of-Course (EOC) exam, the Spring TCAP Achievement (Grades 3–8), a TCAP-Alternate assessment, the ACT, or the English Learners Assessment — this is the calendar to bookmark.

We've pulled the full schedule directly from the Tennessee Department of Education Assessment Division 2025–26 TCAP Calendar (revised February 19, 2026). Every required window, every available administration date.

What each acronym means

  • TCAP — Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program. Tennessee's umbrella state-assessment system.
  • EOC — End-of-Course. The TCAP HS subject exams. Tennessee's standard TCAP HS EOC subjects include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II (or Integrated Math I/II/III), English I, English II, Biology I, Chemistry, and US History — confirm with your district which apply to your child.
  • ACH — Achievement. The grade-level summative assessment for Grades 3–8 (and optional Grade 2).
  • TCAP-Alt — TCAP-Alternate. The alternate assessment for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities.
  • LEA — Local Education Agency. A Tennessee school district.
  • Paper-Based vs Computer-Based — Grades 3–5 ACH is paper-based; Grades 6–8 ACH and high school EOC are computer-based.
  • Standard Setting — The process by which the state determines what raw scores correspond to what performance levels. The 2025–26 cycle is doing Standard Setting for the new Science Standards, which delays the science results to September 2026.

Important notes

  • LEA flexibility within the state windows. Tennessee Code Ann. § 49-6-6001(f) and 49-1-617(b) require the Commissioner to set state-wide windows that maximize instructional time. Each LEA then chooses its local schedule within the available window. Your school district will communicate the specific dates your child sits for each test.
  • LEAs must post their testing dates by July 31. Per Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-6-6007, every LEA must post test information on its website by July 31, including the name, purpose, grade, dates, and parent-notification process for each state-mandated test. Check your district's website.
  • Science results delayed to September 2026. All Science results will be released in September 2026 due to Standard Setting for the new Tennessee Science Standards and Assessment.
  • The Spring ACT third window overlaps with TCAP. If your child is in 11th grade and takes both the spring ACT and a spring TCAP EOC, the third ACT window (April 13–17) overlaps the first week of the TCAP EOC window. Schedule carefully.
  • The calendar is subject to change. The TDOE Assessment Division explicitly notes that the calendar includes dates provided by third-party administration contractors and is subject to change.

If your child is preparing for a TCAP EOC in Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, or Biology

For Tennessee students testing in a TCAP EOC math or biology window, our Texas CBE practice exams cover the same core algebra, geometry, and biology concepts. Tennessee's mathematics standards are anchored in Common Core–derived skills; our TEKS-tagged Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 practice questions overlap substantially with what TCAP EOC math tests.
